Steve Angello – Keeping It Real?

Watch the video, and make your own personal judgement. When did it become acceptable to accept thousands of dollars/euros to “perform”, and that performance entailed cheerleading, and not DJing? Hands down, this is a depressing artist decision, not just to the paying audience of Dance Valley 2011 in Holland, but to house music fans all over the world. DJs are artists, when they maximize their craft. Pressing “play” on a recording, and disguising it as a live performance, is not what our culture represents…
Steve Angello has now responded to the growing online conversation regarding his performance at Dance Valley 2011 on Twitter here.

Steve Angello made a New Year’s resolution last January. Quit partying, and get back in the studio: 2009 was going to be the year of music. Now 11 months down the line, Angello is about to release his new album ‘The Year Book’, which shows just how much he has fulfilled that promise.
Steve Angello put together this tasteful video diary of his WMC trip from last month, featuring shots of him and the Swedish House Mafia rocking Ultra Music Festival and Mansion, as well as the moment that him and Sebastian Ingrosso got shut down at the Beatport Pool Party on the Sunday after their epic set.
As we’re all aware, a few weeks back Swedish House Mafia don Steve Angello got himself into a fracas at a Miami Winter Music Conference gig attended by millionaire heiress socialite Paris Hilton. In the weeks since the incident there’s been a lot of heated discussion and debate, fuelled ever so diligently by Angello himself who even chose to sport an ‘I Heart Paris’ t-shirt at a recent event. Now his fellow Mafioso member Sebastian Ingrosso has stepped in to the ring to show his support, with a somewhat amusing message left in an Amsterdam hotel’s guestbook last week…
The princess of bottle service culture herself, Ms. famous-for-no-particular-reason, Miss Paris Hilton, was publicly humiliated by Swedish house mafia man Steve Angello in move that will leave DJs around the world cheering his name till the end of time.
Angello tells why he reckons illegal downloads pose a threat to the future of dance music, as well as fielding the inevitable questions on that aerophobic friend of his.
The video that has been produced by the UK label has not been produced with the approval of either Luke or Steve and so they felt it only right they came back with something that captures the true spirit of this track and does justice to the enormeous popularity and BUZZ around this TUNE. The impact this monstruos hit has had on dancefloors around the globe is instantly recognizable in this footage. Sit back and…ENJOY!
