It was a typical brisk, late-winter Saturday night in the capital of the world, but that didn’t stop over 1200 members of Washington DC’s club community from witnessing an event dedicated to those who love house music – everyone beginning with the deep house purists to the funky bangin’ rock stars.

With sponsorships from System Recordings, Big Shot Magazine, and M3 Productions, the Washington DC based production / DJ crew of Instinctive Grooves had set the stage in the city’s beautiful midtown triangle at Club FIVE with the highest level of quality control in regards to décor, production, and visuals. Upon walking up the steep and extensive stairwell entrance, visitors entered the club’s first floor and were welcomed with the purest & dopest of deep house funk being provided by Baltimore based Sonic Soul Collective member Adam Auburn. Images of Josh The Funky One plastered all over the walls teased of what was to come, but the early, groovy vibe gave party people the chance to mingle, drink, dance, and appreciate the event’s atmosphere.

After years of releasing mix compilations on his own independend record label Funktion Records, Josh ‘The Funky 1′ just released his first mix CD on a major label. System recordings just released ‘Universal Sound’ and all indiciations are that this is only the beggining for this up and coming superstar DJ.
