Anyone who pays attention to good house music these days is surely aware of Blow Media and their steady stream of digital releases. While the label’s releases are usually quality, ’48 Hours’ by Vancouver’s Hirshee is especially noteworthy.

Yes, this track sounds strikingly similar to many recent productions from the chart-topping mainstay Ian Carey. But just like the works of Mr. Carey, this track is pure 100% dancefloor goodness, unique or not.

Taking a few simple drum loops, a emotionally-charged funky bassline, some synths, and a female vocal sample that simply states ‘the music’, Hirshee weaves together a track that is greater than just the sum of its’ parts. Incorporating flavors from many different sub-genres of house (although what track doesn’t do that these days!), the airy synths and melodic bassline work wonderfully together to give this work a floating, ‘spacey’ vibe… Read more
