This is it folks! The final hurdle before heavyweight house hero DJ Dan releases his long awaited debut album ‘Future Retro’. This next single plucked from one of 14 sublime tracks is ‘Fascinated’, a sure-hot hit and instantly recognisable tune, and a worthy follow up to the reworking of ‘Midnight Star’ classic slice ‘Operator’. Spanning twenty years in the game, from Acid House’s inception two decades ago through to smashing the decks at the world’s top megaclubs, and releasing the popular Evolution EP series, this latest offering from DJ Dan is a glorious, enveloping slice of ‘poptronica’ that takes its inspiration from the body and soul of every clubber worldwide.
And who can forget this massive tune, originally created by Company B in 1986? A definitive, uplifting dance classic that dominated both the club and commercial scenes, further realised and updated by popular Nineties mainstay Emjay. Now, mixing the classic styles and traits of bygone rave-days with an electrified and futuristic twist that nods graciously to the sounds of tomorrow, DJ Dan’s rework preserves ‘Fascinated’s’ glistening vocals and big drop, with new bass-hooks and four-to-the-floor sensibilities for good measure. It adds up to the perfect good-time anthem and will surely be the soundtrack to many a clubber’s summer once again, reborn and reworked for the latest generation of beat-hungry obsessives.
So, reminisce at the past, gaze hard towards the future and turn your dial to maximum volume – DJ Dan is back, and, as ever, he’s more than happy to navigate you through the world of house music, whilst reminding you of the roots and origins of his trademark sound. Don’t worry – you’re in expert hands.
‘Fascinated’ is released across all platforms and digital stores on August 24th through Nettwerk Records.
