Dennis Ferrer – ‘Hey Hey’ Official Music Video

Dennis Ferrer

You’ve heard the track and the remixes, now prepare to be blown away with this thought-provoking video from acclaimed director Johny Mourgue. Rather than go down the obvious route of the same-old dancefloor action, we’ve taken the cerebral path and gone for a highly original story featuring some incredible performances; something we hope deepens your understanding of the track and does justice to an incredible song.

Since late last year support has been steadily building for what is already Dennis’ greatest record to date. The biggest house record in years, ‘Hey Hey’ has now clocked up over 4 million views on YouTube and has transcended genres with support ranging from an A-list addition on BBC 1Xtra to publications like NME enthusing about the track’s potential.

And now to take the record to the next level, we proudly present the official music video. It’s being welcomed as an alternative to the usual batch of formulaic dance music videos and has gone straight onto the playlists of all the major UK music stations, including MTV Dance, Clubland TV, Dance Nation and The Box.

Crookers – By Hook and Crook-ers

Crookers

Get up close & personal with Crookers as Defected Records is very excited to have signed their remix for Dennis Ferrer’s “Hey Hey” official release package that is about to surface this week!

Crookers are dance music’s best kept secret. OK, so they were dance music’s best kept secret. The peppy Italians are on the up, and on the up quickly – it’s hardly surprising then that they’ve suddenly blipped onto clubland’s radar.

Dennis Ferrer – The Hottest Record In The World

Dennis Ferrer

One of the criticisms of the music scene over the last few years is a lack of truly great records; more specifically truly great vocal records. There’s little that unites us more than dancing to your favorite records, screaming the words back to the DJ along with the everyone else around you. It’s a life-affirming experience, and one that has sadly been all too absent from many of the world’s dance floors of late.

Step forward Dennis Ferrer, a man who over the last 6 months or so has done his utmost to inject this elusive joy back into club culture. For many, ‘Hey Hey’ has been the most inspirational original house track for years, uniting DJs and transcending genres to become THE hottest dance record in the world. Now it’s time to up the tempo even further…

We get the feeling those attending Miami WMC ’10 will be hearing hear this track more than just once or twice…if you haven’t been exposed to the track yet, check out the video below.

Dennis Ferrer: Machine Love

Resident Advisor has just posted an in-depth exclusive interview with NYC-based Dennis Ferrer. For those of you unfamiliar with the name, Dennis Ferrer is a serious force in the house music scene. Its time to get educated!

As paths into the world of production go, it doesn’t get much more humble than salivating over a TR-909 through a shop window. He may only have been a penniless, gear-less teenager at the time, but even at this embryonic stage of his career, the adolescent Dennis Ferrer knew exactly what he wanted to do.
