If you have just emerged from under your rock it would be news to you that the robot brothers – Daft Punk – decided to do a little cameo during Phoenix’s Madison Square Garden show only hours before in NYC. Performing a medley of ’1901′ they also pulled few Dafty originals to get everyone’s panties in a twist.

Daft Punk – TRON Legacy Soundtrack Release Date Announcement

Daft Punk’s soundtrack to the TRON: Legacy film will be released on November 22. The French duo’s album will come ahead of the cinema release of the film, which is set to come out in the UK on December 17.

The soundtrack was partly recorded at AIR Lyndhurst Studios in London with an orchestra featuring 100 musicians. It will be the band’s first full cinematic film score.

As reported on TMS, it seems DJ DLG has dipped his production knobs into the Daft Punk sauce. Currently only for listening pleasures, there seems to be a groundswell occurring to get Mr. DLG to consider sharing the project.

Daft Punk + Bootleg usually = *HIT. But in this case it’s “HOLY *HIT DJ DLG HAS DONE ONE”. Doesn’t look like he’ll be unleashing the Mp3 anytime soon . However, maybe if you all get on twitter and harass him he might change his mind?

As reported by Consequence Of Sound, Daft Punk’s much-buzzed about – seriously, it’s pretty much all we think about here – return to studio work following Human After All and 2007’s live disc, Alive, will see the light of day on November 23rd, so mark that down in your diaries with a glitter pen, kiddos.

The Daft Punk penned score comes nearly a full month ahead of the cinematic release of Tron Legacy itself, giving fans ample time to get acquainted with the new Daft Punk material and also horse around on their invisible light-cycles. Vroom!

Daft Punk – Star Wars + The World Cup + Adidas

Back in January ITM brought your attention to the latest all-star collaboration from French house heavies, Daft Punk. Yet far from getting one of their tracks jacked by an opportunistic rap producer, this time the pair of robots were hooking up with Adidas for the shoe brand’s latest Adidas Originals line which featured the likes of Snoop Dogg and even David Beckham spruiking some new Star Wars branded kicks.

The accompanying video back then was, to say the least, a bit confusing, and we’re still unsure what the beloved duo were doing there. But now Adidas have released a sequel of sorts to the video, this one featuring all the same stars heading down to the Mos Eisley Cantina to watch the 2010 World Cup. Yer, it’s still kinda confusing.

You can check the video in the clip below and be assured that this one is probably even cooler than the last one, not only for the extended screen time for the Daft duo who interact with Han Solo and C-3PO but also because it’s kinda cheeky and Snoop Dogg wields a lightsabre.

How does this sell shoes? We don’t know, but it’s probably done just to get people talking. And whaddya know, here we are talking about it. Well played, marketing team.
