Break-beats meet the funk on this massive project by two talented names in the electronic production world. High quality vocals transformed by the warped mind of Alex Metric, the man is in fine form creating a special gift for our ears. The striking of a delicate balance between the infectious, and the twisted, this choon should find a place in many DJ collections rocking dance floors across geographies. Read more

Alex Metric – BBC Radio One Essential Mix (4/16/2011)

BBC Radio One Essential Mix

I set out to do a mix that represents my past, present and future – the records that have inspired me, records I grew up listening to, some of my favourite tracks I’ve made, brand new music from me and of course the music I play in clubs and producers that rock my world at the moment.

It’s a tricky one to balance to make it a coherent journey across the two hours. Luckily, I think I’ve nailed it and am really proud of this musical journey through my brain. It takes in disco, synth funk, techno, indie, big beat, electro, house music and a whole lot more. Lots of exclusives and lots of special edits and mashups made for the mix. Expect the unexpected. I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I did making it.

Alex Metric – BBC Radio 1 – In New DJs We Trust (12/9/2010)

Alex Metric

Check out Alex Metric’s last episode on BBC Radio 1′s ‘In New DJs We Trust’ radio show series, as he shifts career gears to focus more on production. To be honest, as much as we will miss listening to his favorite new choons each month, this is a solid shift. We look forward to more original packages from this up and copming talent!

So here’s to 2011 being one of the best yet, things are stepping up a gear! So with that in mind I have to announce I’m going to be leaving Radio 1 INDJWT. Firstly I’d like to say how much I’ve enjoyed my time at the station. It was an unexpected twist in my musical journey, but one I have loved every second of. Having the chance to play terrible 80′s records on a Thursday evening on one of the biggest radio stations in the world is something I have enjoyed greatly. And quite frankly I’m surprised I got away with it. But, my first love and the reason I’m here today is making music. First and foremost I’m a producer and I need to give that all my energy and attention. I’d like to thank everyone that’s helped me along the way at the station, Tom Koenig, Chloe Straw, Roman Tagoe, my fellow INDJWT presenters and especially Rhys Hughes for getting me in there in the first place.
