The long-time veteran is a model of consistency and quality that should be studied in academia for the future students of the game. “Chunka Funk” is another tribute by DJ Dan to the disco, filtered house sound that he has championed for years, and he is still waving the flag with pride. “Nasty Night Out” has that underground, head-noddin’ sound that displays Dan’s continued (and accurate) read on the dance floors that deny the stinky cheese. Bain de Minuit is Night Riders 2.0, it starts where they left, a big fat bass hit you in chest while the low-fi groove keep you moving, the strings open up for the lovely refrain melody, maybe you don’t understand French but you don’t really need to, even without understanding the lyrics it’s so good…

The Acid Dub version it’s Rider’s personal tribute to a certain club sound, fat and deep, if you didn’t get goose bumps with the original you’ll definitely get it here, still not? wait for the piano to come in, simply beautiful.

Let’s go back. Back to a time when a deep house vocal could send a listening audience into a swarm of clapping, whistling, and pure bliss. One of the gems of house vocals – Ron Carroll – once worked on a project with Hardsoul entitled “Back Together”. It was invincible. Every House DJ who knew anything about making people happy played this weapon over and over. It has been a treasured anthem since Day 1, and has been remixed by a number of legitimate names. However, we are pleasantly surprised to see the bang-up job Mr. Dirty Freek has created. DJ DLG is on storm cloud recently, thundering down with an array of lightning productions for the dance floor. This gigantic EP soon-to-be-released on Lazor Records travels from French House to Disco to flat-out Funky House, a lethal combination if you ever asked us. “Shake” is the EP’s first release, and focuses on a spaced discotron set of sounds that will have listeners drooling with its liquid smoothness. “Bang” is full of epic energy that grinds in menacing fashion. “Funkstar” clocks in as one of our favorites of the package due to it’s throwback funky house sound and wicked percussion, reminding us of DLG’s earlier days on the production scene. “Supercharge” rounds out the delivery as a potential contender for package champion, warping the listener into an electro-funk black-hole.
