The Smithson Martin KS1974 is one of the more interesting products at this year’s NAMM show, because it’s a really laterally thought out product. What the guys at Smithson Martin are doing is bringing touch capability to your workflow without having to make any sacrifices to the raw power of your existing software setup.

One of the fondest memories of DJs who’ve been around since the pre-digital watershed is finding new music. When vinyl was still king it was an adventure to head to the record store, don some headphones and put the new records on the shop’s player – a ‘no scratching or back-cueing’ sign never too far away – or get lost in endless crates at a record fair, searching for that one gem. Of course, if you had a record, nobody else had it; your vinyl collection was your musical identity. Now that everything’s a click away and musical identity theft is the new crime du jour, how do we get some of that individuality back?

Credit their official-sounding name with their home in Washington, D.C., but there’s nothing buttoned-up about Volta Bureau, a trio of disco-besotted dreamers intent on taking house music still deeper in 2012.
The Bureau’s members already have earned ample accolades as individuals: Bernard Farley has recorded as Outputmessage for Ghostly, Melodic and his own Output Noise Records. Miguel Lacsamana is also known as Micah Vellian, with indie-dance credits on Plant Music and Swedish Columbia. And Will Eastman, also a Plant Music regular, is the owner of D.C.’s U Street Music Hall, one of the city’s top nightspots
The trio got its start last summer with the nu-disco tearjerker ”Hope”; the follow-up, ”Alley Cat” (Nurvous), confirmed their mastery of piano-led anthems, going to #20 on the Beatport Top 100.

AutoReverse is a french duo from Avignon, France.
Originally, both Jérémy & Julien started making electronic music with electro, trash and fidget a few years ago. But in 2011, they stumbled upon their old vinyls of DiscoKidz, Crydamoure and other house legends and decided to get back to their musical roots by building the funkiest project: AutoReverse.
Their first track, “Martine Hilton” is the perfect illustration of this mix of genres. It has the power of an electro-banger and the funky feel of a classic 70′s track. This “Disco banger” will surely reveal your best boogie on the dancefloor or warm you up on a cold winter night.
This mixture of sounds works well as their success was immediate, coming from nowhere they simply uploaded their track on YouTube with a crazy and memorable video shot by Thibaud Seidenbinder. After a few weeks only, the video had thousands of views and was blogged by many websites including “10 minutes à perdre” the famous french humoristic blog.
Today, they are releasing “Martine Hilton” for free on Shiny Disco Club along with an EP, “Love” which is available on their Soundcloud page.
We hope you will like the track as much as we did when we discovered it, if so please show them some love by sharing it as much as possible around you!
