Inspired by his varied experiences and exposures to underground house music leading into 2005, Pragmatic Poetry captures Suneel’s obsession and acute attention to the art of DJing. The recording opens with Aaron Smith & Luvli – “Dancin’”, demanding the attention of the listener with a timeless vocal house anthem. From there, Suneel’s capitol intensive clubbing education and experiences at Washington DC’s legendary Buzz, (Super)Sting, and Cubik parties come rumbling through with tracks from Baby D – “Let Me Be Your Fantasy” and The Lisa Marie Experience – “Keep On Jumpin’”. The mix then turns to Suneel’s appreciation for the worldly house sound being shared at Club Five and M3′s Music Makes Magic event series, with notable highlights coming from The Young Punx remix effort on Plastic Dream – “Fuse (Move Your Body)”, Dave Armstrong – “Make Your Move”, and the amazing Juan & Victor Magan – “Dancing Loving”. Take a trip down memory lane with this classic mix from the FHMDC | Electrolife archives!
FHMDC resident Suneel digs into the DJ Mix vault, and unleashes a funky house sound synonymous with the year 2007 highlighting head-nodding rhythms resonating with U.S. dance floors. The recording includes an exclusive bootleg remix by FHMDC’s Implicit, and his reinterpretation of Jacques Bauer – Abandon Ship (Implicit’s Renegade Mashup Remix). It’s worth the wait as Suneel delicately increases the intensity with each track, ranging from the organic, tripped-out funk, all the way to the bangin’, fist-pumpin’ madness!
Hierarchical clustering is a data mining approach in which data is not partitioned into a particular cluster in a single step. Instead, a series of partitions takes place, which may run from a single cluster containing all objects to *n* clusters each containing a single object. The idea is to discover complex interactions that are not visible prior to the process.
Inspired by this approach, the recording is a seamless representation of multiple house music sub-genres spanning from organic, percussive, funky house driven by layers of multiple live instruments progressively climaxing to an edgy, electro, underground flavor ripping with energy. The recording serves as an authentic example of a live DJ set by Suneel, tried & tested in various Washington DC venues during 2007 showcasing his unique, hybrid of house styles.
