FunkyHouseMusic.com Version 2.0

It’s been just over five years since we first launched FunkyHouseMusic.com and for a while it was becoming clear that it was time to upgrade from our original completely custom website format to a more standard, flexible, and extensible website architecture — one that would allow us to better connect with you our readers in this new age of social media. After hundreds of lines of code and many hours of hard work, we’ve managed to import all of our content from day one into our new site, which is founded on a WordPress back-end. It’s been a long time coming, but we are excited about all of the possibilities the future holds…

Here’s a short summary of some of the new features of FunkyHouseMusic 2.0:

Social Sharing
Want to share something with your social network?  At the bottom of every post are links to share that post on many of the popular social networking and social bookmarking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Digg, Tumblr, StumbleUpon, Reddit, and Yahoo Buzz.

Content Feeds
Get the latest house music updates not only from our website, but via our Twitter, Facebook, and RSS feeds which are synced up with our main site.  This allows you to easily stay abreast of what is going on without having to leave your reader of choice.

Search
The search box at top of the page allows you to search the full text of the entire site — no need for an external search engine to find what you are looking for.

Tagging
See a post with your favorite artist?  Click on that artist’s tag to quickly find other items containing that artist.  See who’s getting talked about the most by browsing the most popular tags using our tag cloud on the sidebar to the right.

Comments
Want to speak your mind about a particular news item or track review?  No problem — you can now post comments about each and every item on our website.

And much more to come in the future…

We’re really excited about this new format.  If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions please contact us and let us know what you think.
