Club 75 – Busy P, Justice, Cassius and DJ Mehdi

Club 75

Liberté, égalité, fraternité: call it the motto of the DJ supergroup known as Club 75. Its members—Justice‘s Xavier de Rosnay, Busy P, DJ Mehdi, and Cassius‘ Zdar and Boombass—came together in 2004 for a no-holds-barred throwdown they described as simply “a bunch of friends, no musical limits, backstage-on-stage”.

They revived the concept (if a bunch of bros getting wasted on the decks can really be called a “concept”) last fall at Paris’ Social Club, and this year—perhaps having found the Social Club’s DJ booth too crowded for five lanky dudes—they took the spectacle to the considerably roomier Coachella festival.

FHMDC Exclusive Video: Treasure Fingers – Live @ ‘Boys & Girls’

Treasure Fingers

For the past three years, the DJ and producer born Ashley Jones has been making it rain in the disco with innovative remixes and original tracks. Jones is far from a new jack, having racked up over a decade of international club experience and studio chops as part of the legendary drum & bass group, Evol Intent. Yet as Treasure Fingers, he’s found a way to merge his diverse influences and deep history into a signature sound, packed with intricate basslines, chopped-up, gritty synth melodies, and party-ready drum breaks. It’s already captured the ears of everyone from rock groups Snowden and Mike Snow to house legends Romanthony and Roy Davis JR (all of whom personally requested the Treasure Fingers remix treatment). Equally intrigued were A-Trak and Nick Catchdubs, who quickly signed Treasure Fingers to their tastemaking label Fool’s Gold, home to Kid Sister, Duck Sauce and other buzzed-about favorites.

FunkyHouseMusic.com had the opportunity to record segments from the dance floor pit at the legendary and historic NYC mega-venue – Webster Hall – of Treasure Fingers performing live @ ‘Boys & Girls’. We hope you enjoy this recording of one of house music’s rising stars laying down a diverse set of funky house, nu:disco, indie house, and re-interpretations of forgotten gems.
