DJ Mix: Hatiras Presents Bass Kleph 01

‘Hatiras Presents’ welcomes Australian-based artist Bass Kleph to his weekly online broadcast. 2009 has been his Bass Kleph’s strongest year yet. The commercial and club success of $pend My Money (feat. Stellar MC) in Australia has catapulted him into the top echelons of Aussie talent (he jumped 26 places to #10 nationally in the ITM Top 50 DJs in 2009) and has firmly cemented his position as ‘one to watch’ on the international stage. His success in the ARIA Club Charts has meant that his remixes are in hot demand, but it’s his Beatport success this year that is making the international arena sit up and take notice.

‘Hatiras Presents’ is the weekly radio show presented by Hatiras. Each episode features a new 60 minute mix from many of the planet’s finest DJs. Feel free to download the show here every week. And don’t forget – support the music by purchasing downloads from Beatport, iTunes, etc.

Priors – Remixed

This past summer we picked up news that the We Rock label was resurrecting. For those of you unfamiliar with the We Rock label, it was essential French House that held its own during the rise of Roule, Fresh Fruit, Work, and other classic funky house labels of the past. Anyhow, the kind folks behind the Discodust Blog seem to have a connection with the French artist Raw Man (the mastermind behind We Rock), and have shared the next update which has us very excited!

We hooked you up with ‘What You Need’ by Priors (involving Raw Man of Crydamoure fame) many moons ago and Eye Industries are finally coming through with a release of remixes, including Discodust favorite Grum and Hey Champ, which you can check out right now! The secret star of this post is the Raw Man remix of ‘Neverest’ by Hey Champ though, which was done in exchange for the ‘What You Need’ remix.

Jump Jump Dance Dance + Grum

If you’ve been following our site over time, you know how much we support the mighty Grum. Originally from Scotland, but now transplanted in Leeds – England, the young man continues to churn out essential remixes and innovative original productions. Here is just another example…

Los Angeles based electro rockers Jump Jump Dance Dance have already received some good feedback on the blogs for their recently leaked track ‘Do It For Love’ and are following up with the release of their first actual single. the post-punk flavoured ‘synths versus guitars’ anthem called ‘Show Me The Night’ will be out on etcetc. soon. Discodust favorite Grum delivers a great remix to ensure that both indie and electro-dominated dancefloors are covered.

Ms. Pinky + Max for Live = Scratch Anything in Ableton

Ms. Pinky has been on the scene for quite a while pushing out various software tools to let you manipulate audio with timecode records. With Max For Live on the scene you can now scratch in Ableton via Ms. Pinky giving some users an alternate to Ableton’s The Bridge. Create Digital Music posted the down-low on this development:

What should DJing in Ableton Live look like? How could conventional vinyl cueing and scratching be integrated with the Live environment? Serato and Ableton gave us one possible answer to that question last week with The Bridge. Their solution: use your Serato DJ set normally, and simply sync the transport of Ableton Live when the two run simultaneously.

That solution could be ideal for some users, but it falls short of what many expected, which was the ability to scratch audio elements from Live as though they were on vinyl. Scratching Live clips would seem to be the best of both worlds: you get all the live sequencing features of Live, but you can still manipulate sound as you would on a turntable.

The video is cut to ‘Love Hits The Fan’, the next single release to be taken from Phonat’s debut album, ‘Phonat’.
