Those of you who have been listening to house music for long enough realize there was a golden era for filtered, funky house some time back. Labels like Roule, Work, Fresh Fruit, & We Rock featuring artists such as Thomas Bangaltar, Olav Basoski, Groove Lab, & Raw Man were the bee’s knees. And among some of those notable names, the rising star known to us as Hatiras was making waves with his international mega-hit – Spaced Invader.
In the past year, we have seen a disco & funky house revival of sorts across the world. And following the massive response to his recent ‘New Disco EP’ release, Hatiras answers your requests with more of the funk-filled, filtered-disco sound he’s a master at. This EP features 3 smashing tunes: the bumpin’ ‘Your Love’, the groovier, classic Chicago styled ‘Get Up’ and the dance floor shakin’ ‘Somebody Scream’!..
“Your Love”
In this reviewer’s opinion, this is the CHOON of the EP. The golden nugget, the Alabama slamma’, or better yet – the cat’s meow. This one is incredibly infectious, and makes us feel young and innocent again on the dance floor. Absolutely brilliant!
“Get Up”
Who knew Hatiras had this in him? An uppercut from the world of Chi-town, and a fine contribution for those looking for a quality late night groove, or an early set weapon to get the crowd interacting with the floor earlier than they forecasted.
“Somebody Scream”
A roller-coaster of filtered energy that provides the flexibility and nimbleness to blur the genre-crossing DJ sets, and find itself appearing when you least expect it. A fine contender within this package.
