Disco In 2008: Trend or Transition?
The last 12 months have arguably belonged to disco. Yes, there was a resurgent deep house scene that muscled in on minimal’s four-four stranglehold, and of course dubstep continued its steady ascent into the electronic scene’s consciousness, but thanks to the entire shift in attitude it induced, it was the spinning ball of disco that shone above all else; a genre that changed the way music was played and partied to in 2008.
