Title: Let It Go

A rather massive summer package from Simon Dunmore & company at Defected Records comes in the shape of Dirty South, Axwell, Chocolate Puma, & Dons vs DBS.

And you’re more than likely not going to guess who runs away with the champion mix!

The original Dirty South composition is strapped with the Ibiza formula of success with acoustic guitars, uplifting vocals, long breakdowns, and a touch of acid. For fans of his sound, you shouldn’t be disappointed.

Next up comes the mighty Axwell from Sweden and prior to listening, this reviewer was especially curious to see if the man was still carrying the magic touch of generating anthem upon anthem. The reinterpretation is somewhat minimal (what a surprise for 2008) and adds in an incremental layer of synths that pay a tribute to the days of hardcore in a slower fashion. A solid mix for those who dig the track, but don’t want something over the top…

The champion mix in this reviewer’s opinion comes from the Chocolate Puma. Staying true to the original but adding some wicked, tripped out percussive action while making very good use of the acoustic guitars/vocals and minimizing the breakdowns — this is the version I predict will be most frequently heard across clubs globally. ‘Nuff said. score one for the Puma!
