Ever since the electro-influenced house surfaced a couple of years ago I’ve had a feeling this might finally bring an end to the narrowminded, one-way thinking amongst DJ’s and producers about ‘their’ style of dancemusic. I’ve been doing this since the early nineties and to me it’s all the same; it’s housemusic! Sure, one ‘crowd’ leans more towards what we call trance now, and another favors more techno-based or groovy disco-ish stuff. But in the end we all come from the same place; housemusic.
Minimal? SCHMINIMAL! That’s housemusic too! Over the summer I kept walking around with this in my head and I needed to feed it and get it out of my system.
Somewhat trancy, maybe techhousy and still grooving. The tracks that I came up with didn’t quite fit the Rootz-tag, releasing them on Rootz might scare some of our fanbase away, so we started a new label named Surplus. Releases 1-4, all still under my own name (cause heck, I made them, right?) are ready for release now and will come your way shortly!
