There’s nothing quite like revisiting a classic. Or in this case, reinventing a remake of an 80′s classic. Such is the case with UK producer Filthy Rich’s tasteful rerub of Dave Armstrong’s career-making house song from 2003 (which is not to be confused, of course, with Junior Jack’s ‘Stupidisco’, which took the same 80′s sample), the focal point of Boss Recording’s re-release.

Whereas Dave Armstrong’s original was cleary a funky house affair, Filthy Rich’s take is, as the name implies, decidedly filthy. Initially, the track doesn’t seem that housey either, but it gets there by the end of the journey. It starts off with a barely unrecognizable, cut-up version of the original 80′s sample, and then drops into a hard-as-nails bassline that would be most appropriate in a trance or techno set… Read more
