Juicy Beach Lineup Expands

Juicy Beach Lineup ExpandsAs if the lineup for Juicy Music’s WMC bash wasn’t huge enough Robbie
Rivera saw fit to take it into outer space with the additions of Swedish
house Mafiosos’ Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso along with
international superstar Bob Sinclair.

Juicy has seriously put together
one of the biggest house lineups we have ever seen this side of the Atlantic and
some are calling it a “mini festival” for good reason.

The rest of the lineup and flier can be viewed at the party’s site: www.juicybeach.net/.

The return of happy house, or is it the birth of a new era for Baltimore’s master of dance music composition? Regardless of what impression this monster double-disc package will leave on your ears, this is the real-deal, raw, unfiltered package of what it is like to experience a DJ Feelgood live set.

Even after two complete listens, this reviewer is still struck by the fact that the project retains such a realistic experience. But enough about realism, let’s get down to the dirty facts:.. Read more

Groove Armada – Finishing New Album

Groove Armada - Finishing New AlbumGroove Armada, undoubtedly one of the biggest names in dance music, are close to completing their new album and all indications are that it will be a banger
The first track off the new album, ‘Get Down’, is a minimal influenced electro work out in much the same vein as the duo’s massive hit, ‘Superstyling’. This time enlisting the talents of London based vocalist, Stush, who made a name for herself on the garage circuit, the track is likely to find favour with DJ’s across the board and is already being tipped as one to look out for at the WMC… Read more

Live On Blow Media Radio

Exclusive Interview: Fedde Le Grand

Exclusive Interview: Fedde Le GrandDutch producer Fedde Le Grand is without a doubt the house scene’s biggest breakthrough artist of 2006. At the beginning of the year, he was virtually unknown outside of the Dutch house scene.

A year later, he’s had a #1 hit in the UK, several promiment releases on noteworthy labels including Toolroom and Defected, and even his own contribution to the prestigious “Sessions” compilation series from Ministry of Sound. And all of this thanks to a catchy little tune by the name of “Put Your Hands Up For Detroit”.

We recently got the chance to ask Fedde questions about his lightning-fast rise to the top, the challenges of living up to your own hype, and found out that he likes cuddling with lions.

FHM: You had a meteroic rise to the top in 2006 after your hit “Put Your Hands Up For Detroit” took the clubland by storm. Was this success a surprise to you or did you know you had something special in store?

FLG: When I was done in the studio I thought ‘ok, this is good’, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that others will like it as well. When I started playing it the reactions were very positive. After a while we – Funkerman and I – decided to release it on our label Flamingo Recordings. From that moment on it just took off. At that moment I didn’t know it would turn out to be this big. I started to realise the impact of it when my tune won the award of ‘#1 summer anthem of Ibiza 2006′. Soon after that the track entered the #1 in the UK and this is something that doesn’t happen quite often, especially being a Dutch DJ and it being a house track. So I am the first Dutch DJ ever who has managed to get a #1 hit in the UK with my own tune. That’s quite an achievement.

FHM: Tell us a little bit about Fedde before the fame. We know you weren’t just an overnight success story so give our readers a little insight on where you came from, and how you got involved in the dance community. Read more

Exclusive Review: Hatiras – Something About You (Remixes)

Exclusive Review: Hatiras - Something About You (Remixes)Artist: Hatiras
Title: Something About You (Remixes)
Label: Blow Media
Format: Digital
Release Date: none
Audio Sample: Listen

Hatrias’ well-received remake of the Level 42 classic now has it’s own update as well. The original Blow Media track, reviewed by FHM in 2006, was a phemonal funky/electro vocal track that worked wonders on the dancefloor.

And not much has changed from that description this time around. Taking on the remix duties is Adam K & Soha, plus another go-around from Hatiras himself. Adam K, now a Blow Media staple, is primarily known for his darker, progressive-laced tunes – which is why this rerub comes as a complete shocker. Their remix is a high-energy, hands-in-the-air, peak time house music affair, and is absolutely guaranteed to blow the roof off pretty much any club where it’s dropped. The production itself is simple, but extremely effective… Read more
