Lift 2, the follow-up to DJ Dan’s phenomenal 2005 mix compilation, is guaranteed to take longtime fans completely by surprise. Whether this surprise is pleasant or not really all depends on the musical tastes of the listener in question.

You see, Lift 2 is departure from DJ Dan’s trademark funky house sound, containing pretty much nothing but dirty, filthy, nasty electro house. Whether or not you like those first three adjectives will probably give you a pretty good idea of whether or not you’ll like this mix… Read more

Exclusive Review: Hirshee – 48 Hours

Exclusive Review: Hirshee - 48 HoursArtist: Hirshee
Title: 48 Hours
Label: Blow Media
Format: Digital
Release Date: none
Audio Sample: Listen

Anyone who pays attention to good house music these days is surely aware of Blow Media and their steady stream of digital releases. While the label’s releases are usually quality, ’48 Hours’ by Vancouver’s Hirshee is especially noteworthy.

Yes, this track sounds strikingly similar to many recent productions from the chart-topping mainstay Ian Carey. But just like the works of Mr. Carey, this track is pure 100% dancefloor goodness, unique or not.
