The Young Punx Celebrate Electro + Drum N Bass Week
News on recent adventures in the studio with the Young Punx, drum n bass legend John B, and the Punx forthcoming new artist album.
Though the Young Punx are best known currently for their house music productions, closer followers will be aware that the outfit’s sound embraces a wide range of electronic, rock, and pop styles. Mashup innit?
This week has been a big one for the Punx as they dive in the world of drum n bass and DnB-tempo electronica – firstly having the honour of working on two new tracks for the forthcoming Young Punx album with electro drum n bass god (and 80s style icon) John B.
..
This enabled the Punx to learn the new Nathan Barley-esque phrase of the month “That sounds pimp!”. The group has also been doing a remix for Avex in Japan of an Art of Noise cover where the label specifically requested the wayward punk D’n'B stylings. How about “Punkstep” as a genre name?
FHM Analysis: Props to the Young Punx for not pigeon-holing their creative genes, and not abiding by traditional industry rules.
